With the latest bit of hot water the church is in with regard to priests diddling kids and the Catholic Church covering it up, I'd like to point out that the Church is immoral. Not the obvious way, clearly diddling kids is bad and even if the stock lame denials the apologists for the Church give lip service to the badness of molestation.
Interestingly, when defenders advocate an innocent until proven guilty stance or argue that such matters should be dealt with restraint and without jumping to conclusions, they are being tacitly immoral. The US law (codified in the 6th amendment) of innocent until proven guilty and giving people their day in court doesn't apply to people who diddle children!
If you touch a child, the general view is far more Biblical. With regard to children, we're fine ruining people's lives with the accusation, forcing you to live in the streets for the rest of your life (sometimes everywhere in a city are too close to schools, etc), or if you go to prison having the general population shank you to death. Murderers get to wait decades on death row before dying in prison. If you touch a kid, you end up stabbed to death by bloodless hands. This is generally the moral zeitgeist with regards to touching children, and most defenders of the Catholic Church are going against this when they advocate that priests shouldn't be condemned in cases where there's very little evidence (often just an individual who said that the priest molested them), but that's enough. When it comes to touching children, we shrug at the murder of a man.
The Catholic church is reviled for covering for pedophile priests. The fact that they fail to put children ahead of their own self interests causes them far more trouble than they would ever expect. Most of society puts children before the rule of law. When defenders of the Church argue that we should embrace the rule of law because it appears to defend their interests, they aren't really understanding that kids are above the law. They are putting their religion, their faith, and their God before children and that's a huge mistake.
Some people suggest that maybe celibacy is the problem with priests. I think that that is tangentially correct for the wrong reason. Celibacy is the problem, not because it prevents priests from having a proper understanding of sex but rather because it stops them from understanding parenthood. Because if these "Fathers" were fathers, they'd understand why societies are far more fire and brimstone than 6th Amendment when you fondle children. They would better understand why the church protecting pedophiles is such a deeply immoral thing. There's a reason why "think of the children!" is such an effective rallying cry, because we really do think of the kids. When the Church administration says "think of the priests!" or the defenders of the church says "think of the law!" they are both woefully shortsighted as to the values most people have.

Jewish and Catholic ten commandments skip the 2nd commandment?
The Jewish commandments tend to split up the first between "I am the Lord your God who delivered you out of Egypt" (which is a statement not a commandment) and "thou shall have no other gods before me." The catholics divide up covet wife from covet house/slaves/property. Why does everybody dislike the second commandment?
It isn't hard to figure out, though it's the longest commandment for being shortened to "no graven images" it really says:
How hard is that? Don't make any images of any animals, birds, fish etc or bow down to them or God is going to punish, you, your children, your grandchildren, your great grandchildren, and your great great grandchildren. This is clearly the basis for our modern laws, for example, my great great grandfather Ole Peter Christiansen drew a picture of a goat... which is why I'm writing this in prison.

20:4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.
20:5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
20:6 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.

Condoms laced with HIV claims Catholic archbishop (liar and stupid).
A Catholic Archbishop in Africa where people are constantly has claimed, as many other have consistently claimed in Africa though denied when asked about it in the West, that Condoms are laced with HIV. The conclusions are two fold.
First, Catholicism has even more blood on its hands, directly responsible for death in the African AIDS epidemic. Sam Harris, in Letter to a Christian nation, notes on page 34 that "the Vatican is currently opposed to condom use even to prevent the spread of HIV from on married partner to another... Needless to say, if Church doctrine changes as a result of these pious deliberations, it will be a sign, not that faith is wise, but that one of its dogmas has grown untenable." The Catholic church is, in places where there is no other information about HIV, encouraging people to die.
Second, you actually couldn't catch HIV from an HIV laced condom. Oddly enough the virus dies rather quickly outside the body. Assuming that the condom wasn't laced two seconds ago, it would be nearly impossible to get HIV from a condom. Beyond being murdering asshole lying dirtbags the priests are wrong in the implication, you actually couldn't catch HIV that way even *IF* it were true!

Man attempts to choke the demons out of girl...
... police try to shock the stupid out of man.
Police use taser on a man choking his bloodied naked 19 year old granddaughter, in an attempt to perform an exorcism of her demons. The man in question stopped breathing and died.
Religion only serves to give people something to look forward to, it doesn't hurt anybody. Religion can do no wrong. Faith can move mountains (or at the very least destroy skyscrapers).
I wonder if there is somebody somewhere horrified that the demons are still in the girl.

Catholic family so scared of Wiccan son they sent him to a priest to be molested.
I shit you not!
Well, they may have sent him to be cured by the priest or some such nonsense. But, in reality that isn't what happened. I just confused. Usually I'd be all over this story with wisecracks and interesting points. But, I think it was just too much. I think this story broke me.

Chimeras, shouldn't they have half a soul.
Catholic bishops, bishops in the only true Christian religion, have decided that half-animal half-human embryos have a full soul.
How human does the mix have to be to have a soul? If we move the gene for brown eyes into a chimp, does that chimp now have a soul? What if we just give them one of our genes that they already have? What % is needed to default to this full soul state?
