In her 70s Rand found herself dying of lung cancer, after insisting that her followers smoke because it symbolized "man's victory over fire" and the studies showing it caused lung cancer were Communist propaganda. By then she had driven almost everyone away.

Bill Maher is crazy.

Bill Maher on his latest show went deep into his toxin/super-immune system crap and just went too far. I know he's on the board of PETA and this idea that toxins are what makes everybody sick is quite common in New Age circles. The idea that germs aren't what make you sick is about as impressive as the idea that Iraq might not be a bad idea if it works. He's a voice of reason when it comes to atheism, but why not subject those beliefs to a bit of science on this bad boy?

Chlorine is bad for you, it's a poison and I won't drink bleach. So any amount is bad for you? No. Smaller amounts are bad for bacteria in the water supply and insure that we get clean disease free water.

It's akin to the idea that cancer drugs are bad. A lot of them are toxic, really toxic. But, cancer is going to kill you if you don't take those drugs and so far this is our best solution.

Admittedly, we should all cut down heavily on our intake of meat. We should cut down on our intake of sugar. We should exercise more. This will strengthen us, keep us young, and keep us healthy... it won't make us into germ immune supermen.

Just saying, Bill Maher is crazy.

Almost certainly. Why? Because this land grab would hurt America's ability to produce American energy. That means we will have to buy more foreign energy. And that means that these monsters will get more of our energy dollars to fund terrorism against America.

And with a name like Southern Utah Wilderness Alliance you'd think they'd want somebody to strip mine Utah.

I've been to Utah, it's actually mindblowingly beautiful. I'm astounded most of it isn't already part of the national parks system.

Mike Huckabee, the rubes are taking over the Republican Party.

How odd. The idea to bring the religious into the Republican party was a pretty easy one. If you want a ready group of voters who don't need evidence and are pretty much a ready made pot of buying whatever bullshit you offer, the religious right are a pretty obvious group. So don't use big words, give them a few kick backs, and pay lip service to God, and here and there change your foreign policy to fit with their end times mythos. However, the Republican party is in such complete disarray that they rubes are the most powerful group.



That's right, Huckabee is actually soring. He doesn't dress like a women, believe the native Americans are a lost tribe of Israelites, hug the person whose campaign accused of fathering a black baby, or get laughed off stage... Mike Huckabee, he's actually as crazy as he claims.

The point of the Republican Party is to have a party which, gives lots of money to the rich and keeps the troughs filled... they have to con a few rubes to do it, but the rubes are suppose to stay rubes.
