Men and Women in Advertising

Very funny, but I think nowadays it truly does go both ways. Sure, women overall still get the shaft, but I've noticed a pretty strong trend at least in American advertising to portray men as scruffy, bearded hipster-looking types who are only interested in beer, watching football or putting on axe spray so 20 models will jump on them. Also, there are quite a lot of commercials involving these lazy football-fan men moping like dopes because their wife asks them to clean something or walk the dog, then finding some clever way out of it so they can go stand around and drink a beer and say "sweet" or "nice".
