RL moved, also burnt my computer to death.

I somehow thought it was okay to leave my computer in direct sunlight for a while. Admittedly it might have been the jiggling drive across town and the very large heat sink on my system, or that I left the black case in 100 degree F (38C) heat in direct sunlight. In any event my system refuses to turn on when I press the power button though it gets lights on the motherboard when there's power to be had, but it kind of sits there like I didn't just press the power button when I press the power button.

In any event, that's likely why I have very few blog entries in the last week or so.

At Least There's Still No God.

Politics should probably be ignored about now. I'll hope for the best for Al Franken recount and maybe perk my head up for the Martin/Chambliss runoff, and pay some attention to the Merkley count which predictions suggest he's going to win outright as the count more Dem counties and some lesser places calling it for him. And hope for that guy "A SERIES OF TUBES" is running against.

But honestly, I'm pretty well done with following the races. I really should be. Letting my mood rise and fall with the polls is probably not recommendable. And this blog seems a little makeshift with the politics and quirkiness and atheism all gobbly-gooked. I suppose it's written mostly for myself but it seems a bit odd to have "God's Not" not clearly defined. That or perhaps it is. I'm quite happy Obama won just like the 63 million (more than any other presidential race ever) who voted for him and the many more million who are also happy about it.

As for those people who insist that this is the time we really need to hound him to get our agendas fulfilled... eh. If both houses and the presidency can't manage to push a viable agenda to help people then they don't deserve any more help.

There's still hope for a 60 seat majority in the Senate... a very lowly and silly hope. I think I'll crawl back under a rock somewhere and stop paying attention to things. I hope Palin runs and wins the nomination on 2012. That'll make reelecting Obama an easy task. I'm fine with that. And hope I don't fall for paying attention to the 2010 midterms.

There's still no God. At least there's some debate on that issue by people too silly to realize they are talking to themselves.

Enjoy.

Amateur blogging and amphisbaenia.

So, the other day my young cousins brought some critter to me asking if it was a snake or a worm. I recognized it as an amphisbaenia, though reluctant to make the determination at the time (also forgot the word just remembered that there was a worm reptile). I told them to put it outside beyond the reach of their younger sibling (who initially found they guy). Wow, I thought to myself, I read about those things but never thought I'd see one. I looked for some more pictures of them on GIS then I remembered, that I had a blog and and a webcam. But, alas, I couldn't find the guy outside. So no, confirmation that I was right, my memories are fading perhaps it was just an odd looking snake that happen to look exactly like a worm. Perhaps it was a stick, or a piece of spaghetti... without pictures I don't know what to believe and I'm subject to second guessing. And considering there aren't any species of amphisbaenia in this area I could easily be wrong. Perhaps there's some other kind of snake that looks exactly like an earthworm with bright colors, seemingly two heads. Perhaps there's some kind of worm with a spine (from the feel of it). I just don't know.

The entire point of this post is to say, my amateurish 'wow that's awesome, let's not take and post pictures to my blog' style blogging will end. Pictures of cool stuff rather than second hand "it looked like a snake/worm, but also looked like it had two heads, was about four inches long and had some bright colors" in the future for me. Thank You. My apologies.

I'm fairly sure I got the order Squamata right.
