What beer ads say about men.

It makes a lot of good points and does help highlight the harm that patriarchy does to men too. Also, seriously? What's wrong with beer ads they are almost all exclusively terrible.

Like you said, she makes some good points but these are beer adds... Most people know that they are satire... they are just poking fun. I doubt the these adds will ever create in peoples minds a true belief men are really like this and those who do fall for it are most like such morons that we really do not need to worry about them. lol

I personally love the new Guinness "fortune favors the bold" ads. They're very clever and often very funny.
You should check them out.

Sorry Toots. They didn't mean nothing by it, take it as a complement. -- Nobody says beer ads are real but they really do have terrible suggestions which aren't part of their humor. When they aren't using beer to advertise sex, they are often portraying a version of masculinity that is downright toxic.

Also the "fortune favors the bold" ads seems to have a half-assed Rube-Goldbergesque machine and then has a business-type demanding a raise. I guess there's nothing sexist but I it's less impressive than actual Rube-Goldberg machines.
